AI Experiments
Here, you may find my experiments of the use of AI in maths education.
Interactive Maths Chapter Example
I created this page with ChatGPT o1-Preview.
I chose Quadratic Equations and wrote a prompt, then copied the code ChatGPT gave me and saved it as an HTML file. Then I copied the file here on my website.
It has my videos embedded into the page, as well as interactive practice questions.
Click below to view the prompt and the page.
PROMPT:
OK, so here is the lesson structure.
-
Give a brief definition of a quadratic equation with the general form. Mention which letters are variables and which are constants.
-
Explain that when we solve quadratic equations, we generally get two solutions, but not always.
-
List the three methods of solving quadratic equations with a very brief explanation: Sum/Product Rule, Quadratic Formula and Completing the Square.
-
Write the subtitle "Sum/Product Rule" and embed the video with the link below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esa42AW5pUM
-
Write the subtitle "Practice Questions" and write four equations, where the coefficient of x^2 is 1 in the first two, and not 1 but a positive number in the last two. Make sure these are interactive, that is, students will be able to write the solutions to check their answers.
-
Write the subtitle "Quadratic Formula" and embed the video with the link below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QVCPsgNDMk
-
Write the subtitle "Practice Questions" and give three equations where the solutions are irrational numbers, hence cannot be solved by Sum/Product Rule. Make sure that these questions are also interactive like the previous ones. Drop a note that the answers must be given in 3 significant figures.
-
Write the subtitle "Completing the Square" and embed the video with the link below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYnWZmpJ9nI
-
Write the subtitle "Practice Questions" and give four equations. Make sure that one of them has no solution. Make them interactive like previous ones.
So this is the lesson structure. Write a HTML code for it. Thank you.
